This crystal is the lavender version of Sodalite with tones of light purple and lavender-grey.

Hackmanite is special because it's UV reactive. Fluorescent pink glow patches appear on some beads when you expose the bracelet under black UV light.

Hackmanite also exhibits "Tenebrescence", which refers to a mineral's ability to darken slightly in color when exposed to sunlight. Once the crystal is removed from the UV rays of the sun, it reverses back to its original state.

This unique color shifting quality can be repeated over and over again! Another term for this rare optical stone phenomenon is called "reversible photochromism".

Hackmanite was first discovered in Greenland in 1896. It was named after Finnish geologist, Victor Axel Hackman (1866-1941) who was a professor at the University of Helsinki and a geologist with the Finnish Geological Survey.
